Shockoe Bottom

Shockoe Bottom, known simply as the Bottom, is located in historic downtown. The Bottom, only down the hill from Shockoe Slip contains many of the same features, but also offers the historic 17th Street Farmers’ Market and the Edgar Allan Poe Museum.

Along with its history, the Bottom also boasts modern day pleasures, such as luxury apartments, art studios and galleries, shops and restaurants, and a lively nightclub scene.

 

River Lofts @ Tobacco Row

River Lofts

Phase 3: residential and commercial. Lucky Strike Building: $12 million, 130 apartments. Cutters Ridge Rowhomes: new construction, $4 million, 12 “for lease” townhouses. Edgeworth Building: 150,000 square feet of commercial space. Details for each project are below.

River Lofts @ Tobacco Row: Edgeworth Building

Edgeworth

The Edgeworth Building is the first of the Shockoe Bottom tobacco warehouses renovated entirely as Class A commercial space (150,000 square feet). In November 2005, Forest City Enterprises, Inc. and Hirschler Fleischer, a professional corporation, announced that HKS had signed a 10-year lease for 67,334 square feet of space. They are the anchor tenant that set the historic renovation of the Edgeworth Building in motion. HKS also moved into the building. Commercial space is available for lease. The Edgeworth Building is part of Phase 3 of Forest City's urban mixed-use district along Richmond's riverfront in Shockoe Bottom.

River Lofts @ Tobacco Row: Lucky Strike Building – 2600 E. Cary St.

“It’s unique, definitely upscale,” Forest City Enterprises Regional Manager Cindy Morris says about the 131, one- and two- bedroom apartments recently added to the River Lofts @ Tobacco Row. “All of the river lofts that we’ve done are very upscale and we’re going a step higher than that. It’s a nice atmosphere, nice amenities, high quality on service … this building adds another component to the Tobacco Row area.”

The Power Plant at Lucky Strike
