Easter on Parade Easter Sunday, March 27, 2016
Monument Avenue between Allen and
Easter on parade, the beloved Richmond tradition that features attendees “parading” up and down scenic Monument Avenue in their Easter Sunday best, continues this year on Sunday, March 27, 2016, from 1-5 p.m. on the blocks between Allen and Davis Avenues. The event is produced by Venture Richmond.
Each year more than 25,000 people converge upon the four-block site to celebrate the arrival of spring and the beauty of Monument Avenue, taking this once-a-year opportunity to stroll in the streets, which are closed to vehicular traffic. Music, arts, crafts, children’s activities, food, balloon artistry, a petting zoo, and of course, people and pet watching all are a part of the celebration which is, literally, a parade of Richmonders. Admission is FREE.
A highlight of the event promises to be the ever-popular Pet Bonnet and People Bonnet Showcases, held at 3 p.m. and 4 p.m., respectively, on the Zayde R. Dotts Main Stage at Allen Avenue.
