2nd Street Festival Cancelled
Free Con Funk Shun Concert to be Held at The Hippodrome Saturday
Forecast for potentially dangerous weather, State of Emergency leads to outdoor event’s cancellation
The 2nd Street Festival is cancelled this weekend, due to forecasts for potentially dangerous weather – possibly a hurricane – and the Governor’s declaration of a state of emergency in the Commonwealth.
Produced by Venture Richmond, the festival is in its 27th year, and celebrates the rich culture of the historic Jackson Ward neighborhood. This FREE public event is presented by Altria and Dominion.
Venture Richmond will offer a FREE concert at 5 p.m. on Saturday, October 3, at The Hippodrome, featuring Con Funk Shun. Con Funk Shun was scheduled to headline the Saturday music offerings at the Festival. Doors will open at 4:30 p.m. and entry will be first come, first served.
The unveiling ceremony for the state historical marker honoring the Miller/Eggleston Hotel, scheduled for Friday at 5 p.m., is also cancelled.
