The second, annual
Greater Richmond Challenge, May 10-11, 2007 will offer you a hands-on opportunity to explore
our region's successes and obstacles for community, quality of life and economic development across all four
jurisdictions – Chesterfield, Hanover, Henrico, and Richmond.
The Challenge will bring together businesses, governments, community leaders and residents further equipping
the region for revitalization in areas that are important to our region's development.
As a participant, you will be teamed up with others who are also passionate about moving our region forward.
You will explore all four jurisdictions and their many facets related to strengths and opportunities in one
of the five primary community satisfaction areas -
Crime and Public Safety, Education, Transportation, Workforce
Development and Workforce Housing. The objective - to
help close the gap for these five main target areas after
exploring what is currently being done.
Through the day long visual and experiential tour of our region, teams will collect their observations, insights
and ideas to help move Greater Richmond forward. The Challenge will also assist in the development of emerging
leaders who can be linked directly to these ongoing topics. The future of our region depends on vision,
communication, loyalty, timing, risk and trust. The Challenge will incorporate a little of all of the above.
