In celebration of the 400th Anniversary of our nation and the oral tradition, the stories of twelve trailblazers, some painful
and very different, are told to share how each single-handedly helped to shape the rich history and culture of Virginia and
ultimately our country. Incorporating the music and vernacular of the times, join us as Living Word Stage Company brings the of
Booker T. Washington, Maggie Walker, James Armistead Lafayette, Ella Baker and others to life before your eyes.

March 30, 2007, The Reconciliation Statue Unveiling
Afflicted by slavery, healed with forgiveness, Liverpool, England, Benin, West Africa and Richmond, VA will be the trinity that
reconcile the pain endured by Africans forced into slavery and the effect of slavery on their descendants. Join us distinguished
national and local guests commemorate the lives of enslaved Africans in Africa, the Americas and Europe with the Reconciliation
Statue Unveiling in Downtown Richmond.

March 31, 2007, African-American Trailblazers Awards
Celebrate an evening with Honorary Chair, Mayor L. Douglas Wilder and
Honorary Co-Chair, acclaimed poet and memoirist, Dr. Maya Angelou at
the African-American Trailblazers Awards. This star-studded event,
featuring national celebrities and local community leaders, will
recognize the heroic achievements of twelve African-American
trailblazers in fields of business, the arts, science, education,
public service and more. Join us as we honor the achievements of
today's trailblazers who exemplify those characteristics while
positively impacting our world!

The Richmond Slave Trail, Self guided and interpretive tours available now Feel
the spirit of enslaves Africans as you retrace their actual steps
before sold into a life of bondage. This trail will leave you moved,
thankful and proud of the journey of African-Americans and how they,
even when faced with adversity, have affected a City and a nation.
