About Historic Richmond Foundation:
Founded in 1935,
Historic Richmond Foundation is the largest and oldest non-profit
organization devoted to preserving the historic assets that define the
unique character of the Richmond area. The agency has been instrumental
in saving hundreds of historic structures, was a leader in the
designation of the city's first historic district (St. John's) in
Church Hill, and has pioneered the concept of adaptive reuse of old
buildings.
About the Virginia Center for Architecture:
The Virginia
Center for Architecture invites the public to explore the power and
importance of architecture through exhibitions, educational programs,
publications, and its stewardship of a historic landmark. One of the
nation's few museums devoted to the building arts and design, the
Center creates understanding of the value, meaning, and influence of
built environments. Located in a landmark Tudor-Revival mansion on
Monument Avenue, the museum educates and entertains Virginians and
visitors alike.
Directions and Parking:
The SunTrust Building is located downtown at 10th and Main Streets. Free parking is located under the building in the SunTrust
Customer Parking Deck, entrance on Cary Street between 9th and 10th Streets. Parking tickets will be validated. From East: Take
I-64 West to I-95 South. Take exit #74A. From West and North: Take I-64 East to 195 South exit, bear left on exit. Once on 195
South, move to right lane and take 195 South exit only to Downtown. Take the "7th & 9th Street/Route 60" exit. From South:
Take I-95 North to "Route 195 to 195 North Downtown Expressway to
Powhite Parkway" exit. Take "Canal Street/Route 60" exit. Turn right at
the 2nd light onto 9th Street. Take next right onto Cary Street.
