mysteries in search of hidden treasure? Think you know Richmond like
the back of your hand? Want to race for a $2500 cash prize for you and
your team, and a $2500 donation for your favorite Richmond Region
institution? Then sign up now for the Great Richmond Region Adventure!
This groundbreaking community event is the newest addition to the
Richmond Region's celebration of the Travel Industry of America's
Discover America Week, when hundreds of cities and towns across the
nation promote the powerful economic, social and cultural impacts of
travel and tourism through local events and celebrations. On May 5th
100 teams equipped with treasure maps, clues, and cool Goonie-esque
gadgets will race through downtown Richmond to be the first to solve
the secrets of the Great Richmond Region Adventure. The team with the
most clues solved in the fastest time will win the $2500 prize! Teams
will have to use their wits to find planted a
ctors, outwit adversaries, and decipher the mysteries of the treasures
of Richmond Region. The race will end on Brown's Island at the Cinco de
Mayo celebration where drinks, glory and prizes will be awarded!
What you need to know:
Teams can be made up of 2-5 players
The event will be walking only (accommodations will be made for players
using wheelchairs); no personal vehicles allowed (bikes, cars,
motorcycles, etc.)
Race time: approximately 3 hours.
When registering, each team will select its favorite Richmond
institution to receive a $2500 donation if the team wins the grand
prize. $2500 cash prize to the winning team and a $2500 donation to the
team selected Richmond institution. Treasure for you and for the city's
attractions!
The hunt runs rain or shine. Should you not be able to attend, the
entrance fee is non-refundable but you may apply to future credit with
Ravenchase Adventures
Some clues will be encrypted. You don't need knowledge of encryption, but you need to be resourceful.
This is NOT a scavenger hunt! The hunt will be hard but solvable if you use your head!
All teams will be required to travel together.
All ages are welcome, but children must be accompanied by an adult.
