Ukrop's Richmond Race Fest Races Back to James Center
Returning again to the downtown streets of Richmond is the Ukrop's
Richmond Race Fest. Now in its third year, the festival has grown to
new dimensions for '07 with the inclusion of the Jimmie Johnson
Foundation and the Richmond Children's Hospital. Cary Street will once
again be packed with show cars, giveaways, live music and more for race
fans to enjoy before the green flag drops at the Richmond International
Raceway.
This year Ukrop's Super Markets is excited to partner with
the Jimmie Johnson Foundation. "We are honored to be the beneficiary of
the 2007 Ukrop's Richmond Race Fest. It is a wonderful opportunity to
spread the word about the Jimmie Johnson Foundation, and to have the
chance to meet the amazing Richmond race fans," said Jimmie Johnson,
co-founder of the Jimmie Johnson Foundation and driver of the #48
Lowe's Chevrolet. Johnson, who was the 2006 NASCAR Nextel Cup Champion,
went on to add, "The Race Fest is a great event with something for
everyone. Chandra and I are looking forward it."
All race fans, locals and visitors are invited to join Jimmie Johnson
and his NASCAR friends for a fun-filled evening for the whole family.
Best of all, the event is free! The Ukrop's Richmond Race Fest will
take place at James Center at 10th & E. Cary Streets in
downtown Richmond, from 6:30pm-8:30pm on Thursday, May 3rd. For further details on the festival, visit www.ukrops.com.
