Venture Richmond, in partnership with the City of Richmond and the National Council for the Traditional Arts, will produce the Richmond Folk Festival October 10-12, 2008.

The Coal Men and D.J. Williams Projekt play Brown's Island Saturday at 6:45pm followed by the Verizon Fireworks Extravaganza over the James River at 9:30pm (free admission for all events)

10 Must-Do Activities for folks at the James River Adventure Games presented by Dominion –

  2. Hit the whitewater with the Riverside Outfitters Pipeline Raft Run ($10 per person, minimum age 14 years)

  6. Try a Kona mountain bike with the experts at YeRen Outdoor Adventures
  7. Definitely check out the Wii gaming system w/ Wiki Fit and Wiki Sports and Xbox 360 w/ Rock Band game at the Best Buy Pavilion
  8. Paddle a sit-on-top kayak (free) at the Sports Backers Kayak Corral
  9. Take a beginner's mountain bike tour of Belle Isle with RAMORE volunteer Greg Rollins, rentals from YeRen Outdoor Adventures
  10. Show the Kids how to cast (then learn from the experts) at Reel Kids Casting with Virginia Bass Federation
