Whether you're a first-time marathoner just trying to finish or a 50-time marathoner hoping to qualify for Boston, the SunTrust Richmond Marathon on November 13, 2010 in Richmond, VA, will rank among your favorites. The course takes runners through historic downtown Richmond and some of the city's most scenic areas. Running Richmond also comes with some great perks - Incredible course support from spirit groups and cheering stations, high-energy bands and entertainment, water, POWERade, and ACCEL Gel throughout the course, post-race massages and of course, a huge post-race festival.

The last half mile is any runner's dream. The downhill finish drops 70 feet in elevation, and runners can smell the hot pizza that will greet them as they cross the finish line. All runners receive a commemorative medal upon crossing the finish line.

In addition to the SunTrust Richmond Marathon, there is also the McDonald's Half Marathon and HCA Virginia 8k on November 13 that cross the same finish line and offer the same great perks. Walk-up registration will be available at the Health & Fitness Expo at the Arthur Ashe Center on Thursday, November 11 from 5 to 9 p.m. and Friday, November 12 from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. There is no race day registration or packet pick-up.
