Join Mayor Jones for the ribbon cutting of Downtown Richmond's first outdoor ice skating rink, RVA on Ice!

Last year, Mayor Dwight C. Jones announced his desire to place an ice skating rink in downtown Richmond. The city's new ice skating rink, RVA on Ice, will open on Wednesday, December 22, 6:00pm, with a special ribbon cutting ceremony and holiday festivities for families to enjoy. Special Guests will include Santa Claus and Nutzy of the Richmond Flying Squirrels. The ice rink is adjacent to Richmond CenterStage at 6th Street on the Broad Street side.

Parking facilities with reduced rates will include the following city-owned parking garages and surface lots:

• 5th & Marshall Streets Garage
  
  
• 7th & Marshall Streets Garage
  
  
• 7th & Grace Streets Surface Lot
  
  
• 5th & Broad Streets Surface Lot
  
  
• Richmond City Coliseum Garage (501 N. 7th Street)

During the holidays, the rates of Richmond city-owned parking facilities will be reduced to $6.00 a day (regularly $16.00-$19.00 a day) from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. to encourage people to enjoy the numerous events happening in downtown Richmond. The discounted rates will be available from December 22 to January 2, 2011.
