B.J. Brown, director of the Richmond Jazz Society said, "We're excited about this union and are eager to showcase the common and uncommon components of jazz and bluegrass music. Both are rooted culturally and socially rooted in rich communities and offer, through music, a way to share history through in song and through lyrics."

This unique pairing will feature local musicians the Desiree Roots Quintet performing jazz and popular music, and Page Wilson, bluegrass. The two will offer individual performances concluding with a combination set.

Tickets are available at Plan 9 music stores and the Black History Museum, located at 00 Clay Street in Jackson Ward. Admission is $12 in advance, $15 at the door. Food and drinks will be available. Parking on the 14th will be available curbside and behind the museum.
