The Richmond Riverfront Section of the Virginia Capital Trail will provide the western terminus of a 50-mile multi-use trail for bikers and pedestrians that, when completed, will connect Richmond to Jamestown and Williamsburg along the scenic Route 5 corridor. Currently eight miles of the trail have been completed in James City County, from the Chickahominy River to the Jamestown Settlement. Thirty-seven miles of the trail are currently under development, with projected completion in 2011. The Richmond Riverfront Section, stretching from the Floodwall to Great Shiplock Park, should be completed by the end of 2008.
