Program has received national acclaim
Nearly 20 downtown businesses will "flip the switch" on November 30 at 6:00pm as Lite 98 counts down to kick off the annual Love Lights program and the annual Celebrate Illuminate holiday event.
For several years downtown businesses have outlined their
buildings with lights to help ring in the holiday season and to add a
sense of festivity to the downtown area. Over the last few years,
Richmond Free Press Editor and Publisher Raymond H. Boone has
spearheaded an effort to extend this delightful program past the
holiday season into February 14.
Mr. Boone's Love Lights initiative has garnered both
local and national praise, winning the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts
Muse Award in 2006 and the 2006 Daimler Chrysler Entrepreneurial Award
for creativity and strengthening community.
It is hoped that each year more businesses will participate in Love Lights in order to show off the beauty of our skyline and to engender
