The 6th Annual Virginia Que Pasa Festival Shares the Richness of Hispanic Culture and Highlights Education in a New Venue at
The Science Museum of Virginia

The excitement, color and richness of the Latin way of life will all come together in flavor, sound and style at Virginia's annual celebration of Hispanic culture. Performing artists, cuisine and a rainbow of arts and crafts from Spain to the Caribbean to South, Central and North America will be showcased at the 6th Annual Que Pasa Festival of Virginia. The day also marks the first day of National Hispanic Heritage Month.

The festival provides an opportunity to share the Hispanic culture and spirit, says Michel Zajur, president of the Virginia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (VAHCC), which is hosting the event in partnership with State Farm Insurance. Virginia's Hispanic population is more than 427,000 and the Commonwealth's fastest-growing ethnic community. More than 10,000 visitors from around the Commonwealth and region are expected to attend the event, which will be held rain or shine, in tents and in the science museum.

"This festival brings the Hispanic culture and experience to everyone, right here in the heart of Virginia," Zajur says. "There will be great music and performing arts, delicious food and unique arts and crafts. As its name means in Spanish, the festival is the Hispanic "what's happening" in the Commonwealth."

"We're honored and delighted to once again be a title sponsor of Que Pasa and our relationship with the Virginia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce," says Evan Taylor, multicultural marketing coordinator for State Farm. "This is a great opportunity for State Farm and our good neighbor agents to support the diverse and beautiful culture of a community on the grassroots level by reminding all of our customers the value of State Farm goes beyond insurance, especially with the educational element this year's event offers through the venue of the Science Museum of Virginia."

Tickets for the festival are $10 for adults and free for children age 12 and under. Free parking is available on site at the museum and within walking distance in nearby public and private high school lots and at the DMV. Advanced ticket sales are available at the Virginia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce at 10700 Midlothian Turnpike in Richmond. Two dollar discount coupons are being offered from most State Farm Insurance agents in the Commonwealth and though the festival's sponsors.
