See you at the 69th National Folk Festival
This Weekend!
Friday-Sunday, October 12th-14th

We know you love the National Folk Festival, so here are a few tips to make your experience even better!

For the easiest route to the National Folk Festival this weekend remember to carpool or use the FREE shuttle buses available at Cloverleaf Mall and the Diamond. Please do not your bring pet. We expect very large crowds and your pet will be more comfortable at home.

Also, please remember that no general vehicular traffic is allowed on the festival site for your safety. During the event 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 7th Streets will be closed at their intersections to Canal Street. Only attendees on foot will be allowed south of Canal Street during the event.

Last year, nearly 100,000 people came down to downtown Richmond's riverfront to celebrate the roots, richness and variety of American culture through music, dance, traditional crafts, storytelling and food. This year will offer the same overwhelming excellence you enjoyed last year, with a whole new list of performers, artists and exhibitors!

In the Event of Rain Come Anyway!:
Though the weekend's forecast calls for clear and sunny skies, the National Folk Festival will go on even if it rains. In the event of rain please visit one of four information booths located throughout the festival to receive an updated performance schedule. There are 3 extra large tented stages: The Richmond Times-Dispatch Dance Pavilion and the Genworth Financial Stage (both on Brown's Island), and the Comcast Stage (in the American Civil War Center courtyard), so in the event of rain you can enjoy the performances in a dry environment. The VA Folklife Traditions and the Ten Thousand Villages Marketplace are also under tents.

Seating:
Seating on the site is limited. Some stages provide a limited number of chairs and others do not. You are encouraged to bring chairs and/or blankets for seating.

Admission:
The National Folk Festival is a FREE event - you can enjoy the performances, demonstrations, and family area at no cost. Food, drink and merchandise are for sale.
