14th & 1st Streets at the southwest end of the Mayo Bridge between the Manchester Canal and the James River observation tower. A parking lot adjoins the site.

The ceremony will include a viewing of the new facilities --- benches, interpretive signs and flower beds --- followed by an unveiling of a memorial plaque and music by Richmond area students. Comments by Secretary of Administration Viola O. Baskerville on behalf of Governor Timothy M. Kaine, representatives of the City, Bridging Boundaries International (BBI) and BBI student volunteers will be followed by special recognition of the Mayor of Richmond, the Director of Public Works and the Director of the Department of Parks, Recreation and Community Facilities for their support in facilitating the successful development of the project.

This entity is another example of the City's dedication to shared international values as represented by the Slavery Reconciliation Statue. It will also be a "Sister" site to the "Diversity Park" in Mostar, Bosnia-Herzegovina which was dedicated in July 2007. It was constructed by student volunteers representing different religious faiths and ethnic backgrounds. They were organized by Bridging Boundaries International as an educational program to prepare young people to improve their world by workshops, student councils and service projects based on the concepts of diversity, acceptance and inclusion.
